Towards a Brighter Future for People with Visual Impairments
Our Mission
A Clear Vision... and Comprehensive Empowerment
At Edu Vision, we work with passion and a deep belief in the potential of every individual. We believe that everyone deserves a fair opportunity to learn, live, and realize their full potential. Through a specialized team, high-quality programs, and impactful community partnerships, we continue our journey toward a more inclusive and just future.
We believe that early intervention is the foundation upon which all future rehabilitation and empowerment steps are built. That’s why the Academy offers a comprehensive program for children starting at the age of two, which includes:
Functional vision assessment and identification of the type of visual impairment (blindness or low vision).
Development of individualized programs tailored to each child’s specific needs.
Training for children with low vision on how to use visual aids and preparation for learning to read and write.
Visual stimulation to activate any remaining vision in children with low vision.
Comprehensive psychological support for children, along with family counseling and guidance to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Development of sensory skills that enable blind children to learn Braille.
Teaching Braille and computer use through accessible technology, including screen readers and electronic Braille displays, in a simplified and age-appropriate manner.
An inclusive nursery program that provides a shared learning environment with sighted peers.
Integration of students into public and private schools, with ongoing monitoring of their academic and psychological progress.
Preparing schools to become inclusive educational environments by providing suitable tools and training for teachers.
Designing parallel Braille curricula aligned with preparatory school materials to ensure equal educational opportunities.
Welcoming Schools Project (2021/2022): Integrated and rehabilitated 48 students with visual impairments across several schools in Cairo, in collaboration with the Ata’a Fund. The project also focused on transforming these schools into welcoming and supportive environments.
Al-Nour Schools Development Project: Implemented in partnership with Misr El-Kheir Foundation and the Zaytoun Educational Directorate, this project aimed to enhance the quality and effectiveness of specialized educational environments for blind and visually impaired students.
This department targets children and youth aged 12 and above—both girls and boys—with the aim of developing their life skills and building independent, active personalities. The program includes:
Orientation and mobility skills using the white cane.
Computer literacy and assistive technology skills to open new pathways in education and employment.
Daily living skills and home management (cooking, cleaning, ironing, and more).
Financial literacy and money handling to promote privacy and independence.
First aid training as a vital and essential life skill.
Vocational training and job readiness through specialized programs that prepare youth to enter the workforce with confidence and competence.
The Academy also supports the rehabilitation of individuals who have lost their vision later in life due to accidents or sudden illnesses, helping them adapt and regain their independence.
Life Skills Initiative: Aimed at empowering youth with essential skills for personal independence.
"They Are Capable" Initiative (2019–2021): Focused on supporting and empowering girls and women with visual impairments.
"I Can… I Have a Vision" Initiative (2017–2018): Designed to boost self-confidence and help adolescents explore and realize their hidden potential.
